Grammie comes to town!

Georgia has enjoyed a visit this week from one of her favorite people, Grammie!
After business in Hot-lanta Mom got to come play with us in the 'Ham for a few days, before heading back to TPA tomorrow. We've gotten to do some good shopping, lunching and playground-hopping, and just enjoying girl-time together!
Here's some fun pictures from our playtime:

Life can be a full-time job

Well, I realized I have not posted in a while, but we haven't really been up to much. Just regular, full-time life! Isn't it amazing how your days can sometimes be full and fulfilling, without doing anything special? Just the regular in-and-out can be all you need and just make the days fly by.
Georgia enjoys flying high in Reid's swing!

We have enjoyed some playtime with friends- cousins Tate & Reid and their moms Diana & Holly, and Kaidan & Jennifer Speer, our former neighbors. We always welcome new adventures and time for fun!

Parallel Play

Today we had a play date with one of our favorite guys, Rollins deVilleneuve. We had lunch and then went to the playground so the kiddos could run around together. But it's funny to say they "played together", because really they just run around in the same area. 'Experts' (whoever 'they' may be) call this "parallel play" because kids this age generally play alongside each other rather than interacting and playing together. I think it's funny that there is a technical term for how one-year-olds play! I just call it "running amuck"!
Parallel or perpendicular or whichever direction it was, Rollins and Georgia had fun, and us mommas enjoyed getting to catch up. We'll be ready to do it again soon! :)
Despite the experts, here's a few pictures of them playing together:
Giddy-up dino! Faster, faster!

Back in the house, mister!

I'll help you get this mower going, Rollins!

Keys are a good bribe for a sit-down picture!

First Birthday Party

Yesterday we had a fun little First Birthday party for Georgia with family, friends and playmates. It was a great celebration with dancing (mostly by Georgia and her friend Ellie), good food (cheerios and cupcakes!), entertainment (a singing duck) and fun games (blocks, chase and wooden-pony rides!).

Georgia did a great job playing with her cake- I think she liked the feel of the frosting squishing between her fingers! She also loved opening presents with her daddy- and then, of course, playing with her fun new toys and books! She also started an impromptu dance party with her singing ducky. Those one-year-olds have got some cool moves!

We all had a blast and really appreiciated all that came to celebrate with us. It was truly a fun and special time and we look forward to sharing many more milestones with you all!

ONE

Dear Georgia Kate,
You are officially a one year old, a toddler and no longer a baby, though, as my mom always says, you'll always be my baby! I can't beleive how fast a year went, and I went to sleep last night with a new picture of you in my head- a long-legged little girl with long blond pigtails and bangs, and big blue eyes. You become more that little girl and less my little baby every day!

~ I love that you love to laugh, & will even do this silly fake laugh over & over to make us laugh at you. You are such a happy child!

~ You are so busy & always moving- walking, running & even starting to try to climb. Your favorite game is chase, & when you're the chaser you hold your arms up & shake them, like you're trying to scare your chasee!

~ You love music & dancing. You bob your head forward & back, or dance up & down to any tune- the radio, a tv commercial, a singing toy, or -your favorite- American Idol!

~ You are learning so quickly & love to figure things out. You like to take things apart & I can tell already that "why?" will one day be your favorite question! Although, sometimes you're a bit destructive in your curiosity!

~ You're still a picky eater, but what you're eating most right now is: mac n cheese, bananas, dried blueberriers, strawberries, cheese, crackers &, of course, cheerios. You also went cold-turkey on bottles to drinking only out of a sippy-cup, & you drink whole milk or water.

~ You talk all the time, but still refuse to use the words daddy & I are trying to teach you. "Ba" remains the only name you'll call!

~ I think you're part mermaid because you love the water- your baths, the pool, &, recently, the ocean. Even washing hands is a splashing adventure! This summer will be fun!

~ I love that you're fearless & tough. You always go for the glory, & shake off bumps & falls to try again. Nothing stops you from getting what you want! Keep going after your dreams & don't ever be afraid of big steps!

Daddy & I continue to be amazed by you & grow daily in our love for you. Thank you for being such a sweet & happy girl, and giving us an amazing year. We love you so much and continue to pray that the Lord will guide us in being your parents! love, mommy

Happy 1st, baby girl!
