Mickey's Rockin Road Show

This past Saturday, mom & I had a very special date with a very special soon-to-be 3-year old! As an early Birthday present we took Georgia to see Mickey Mouse and his gang in the Disney Rockin' Road show. She's just starting to figure out who Mickey is, thanks to Mickey's Clubhouse cartoons, and she was so excited when he came out on stage! Almost as excited as she was to see Cinderella!! I didn't even know she knew who Cinderella was, but I guess every girl is born in awe of that very special princess. I wasn't real sure Georgia was old enough to sit through an hour and a half show, but she loved it! She had her special slushy drink in her special new Mickey cup, and her special popcorn treat in her special new bucket, and her special new Minnie Mouse tshirt on, and she was mesmerized! It was a fun treat for our special little girl! :)
Girls' Date! (though not the best group shot!)

The best way to meet the stars is to look like one...

One super-sugar drink... mmmmm!

Had to put Minnie on!

CINDERELLA!!!

Georgia was so excited about Cinderella, she took the camera from me and had to take her own picture of her!!

Put your hands in the air...

Minnie, Mickey & Cindy...

The whole gang!

Spring Break 2010

Sorry for those of you who have been looking for a Letter of the Week post- we have been lacking in our lettering... But our time has not been idle! We've had some fun company in town- Nana, Aunt Heather & Uncle Jon! (Larry's mom, sis & sis' fiance.) We had such a fun Spring Break with them- here are some glimpses...
(This is a LONG POST, and this isn't even all the pictures! Heather has so many great ones on her camera, but didn't have the cord for it so we can't share them... yet! ;)
We watched Georgia flip and tumble at Gymnastics Class...

We experienced the safari, kiddie rides and rollar coasters at Busch Gardens...

We enjoyed dinner at the Beach one beautiful, yet cold & windy evening...

We wore green to the zoo for St Patty's day...

We did swings & slides at the park...

We took walks and ran thru the palm trees...
We played in the sand and surf...
We finished our week with a perfect sunset cruise on the boat...
Thanks for a great week, "Anna, Aunt Header and Unc' Jon"! We can't wait to see you again soon!

Sleepy Head Syndrome

Baby Boy is suffering from from this specialized syndrome... Usually he can keep it under control, but some days it catches up with him... This is what happens when you totally drop your morning nap too young... you get caught snoozin in your lunch! :)

I think I've seen this before...

Happy Birthday, Grammie!

It's fun being in town to celebrate my family's birthdays with them. I haven't been able to do this in years! I think birthdays are special and should be treated as such, and I love being able to do a little something special for my loved ones.
Today is my mom's birthday (age will stay unmentioned, of course, but look closely at these pictures and you may figure it out!). ;) But mom & dad are celebrating with a weekend in Charleston so we had a little family celebration dinner earlier in the week. And since mom gave up sweets for Lent, I made sure we didn't have a cake- we had fruit pizza instead! (I very loosely followed this recipe, and used ready-made dough) It was a very tasty substitute! :)
Happy Birthday Mom/Grammie/Peggy! We love you!!

Yay! May all your Birthday wishes come true!

Strawberry Fun!

Saturday we went to the Plant City Strawberry Festival- it's a big deal around here and had just enough down-home goodness in it to satisfy my heart that's been missing sweet home Alabama just a bit. The Festival offered carnival rides for big kids & little kids, beauty queens, pig races, lumberjack shows, "best of" prizes- quilts, cows, strawberries, you name it! And the food- oh my! I wish I'd had a pocketful of Tums so I coulda sampled more & more- there were literally rows upon rows of food stalls. We had the traditional corn dogs and corn on the cob, and the strawberry shortcake was, of course, top notch! And we have a fridge-full of sweet strawberries to enjoy all week!

Oh yes- they had a "Beef Wagon" AND Chocolate "Dipt" Bacon (I love the spelling of 'dipped'!). NO- we did not try it...
"No, Lincoln, Mommy does not know what Chocolate Dipt Bacon would taste like either..."
The true sweetest picture of the day- sweet sister kisses!

Learning about how the strawberries come from the Fields...

This was on a pillowcase dress that was for sale and so cute I had to share a picture! A sweet reminder of how precious our freedom is... "If you love your freedom- Thank my Daddy"
Guess what Lincoln sees? "Brown cow, brown cow, where are you now?" He was totally taken with the cows!

"Now we're talkin! This is my kind of ride!""
