Baby Boy Update- 29 weeks

In a continued effort not to overshadow the coming baby, I thought it might be time for another update. (I have 2 good friends, a brother & father who all stress it's very important to not forget about the 2nd child!) Not that much is going on with him, we're just both getting bigger & bigger! I've decided that 6 months is plenty long for pregnancy. At this point I'm already uncomfortable, can't always sleep, and know I still have 11 weeks of weight gain ahead of me! But yes, yes - I know baby boy is not ready to come out & play yet, and so I take daily comfort in knowing "My flesh & my heart may fail, but GOD is the strength of my heart & my portion forever." (Pslam 73:26)

I had a Dr visit yesterday to check on the little fellow, and all continues to be well. His heartbeat was good & strong, and he was certainly bouncing around enough. According to babycenter.com, he is now the weight of a butternut squash, which is about 2 1/2 pounds, and over 15 inches long, head to heel. In this 29th week "his muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain". So I guess he may look a little like an upside-down butternut squash with that big head!

While Georgia still doesn't understand what's going to happen in a few months, we've spent some time "talking" about babies lately and "baby" seems to be her favorite new word. And today while we were out she insisted on getting this sweet blue hippo for her baby brother! Since it was SO cute (& 1/2 off!) I agreed. Now, hopefully she'll remember to share it once baby brother is here!
